Making knowledge
work harder.

Helping organisations scale capability

I’m Manoj. I started my career in higher education before moving into digital advertising operations and operational excellence. Over time, I became increasingly interested in how organisations work, how knowledge flows between teams and how processes can be improved. More recently, I've been exploring how AI can help make organisational expertise easier to access, learn and scale.

01 · About

Different industries.
Familiar problems.

Across higher education, digital Ad Operations, AdTech and Operational Excellence, I kept encountering the same underlying challenge: valuable knowledge was difficult to access.

It lived inside teams, relied on a handful of experts, and became harder to maintain as organisations grew. Whether the challenge involved onboarding new employees, building offshore capability, improving operational processes or documenting ways of working, the goal was often the same: helping organisations capture knowledge, build capability and scale expertise more effectively.

My work has increasingly focused on understanding how organisations operate, how knowledge flows between people, and how technology can make that knowledge more useful.

I don't come from a traditional consulting or engineering background. What I know has been learned by solving real business problems, working alongside stakeholders and continuously testing better ways of working.

The recurring challenge

Organisations have knowledge.
Access is the problem.

01

Locked in experts

Critical know-how often lives with a small number of people.

02

Scattered everywhere

Documents and answers are spread across systems, formats and teams.

03

Slow to learn

New employees depend on shadowing, repetition and lengthy documents.

04

Hard to maintain

Documentation quickly drifts out of step with the way work gets done.

The cost shows up as duplicated effort, slower onboarding and an organisation that is more dependent on individual memory than it needs to be.

02 · Featured case study

From departmental knowledge to an AI-powered learning ecosystem.

An exploration into whether organisational knowledge could be captured, structured and made easier to access through AI.

01

Capture the source material

The process began by bringing together the fragments that describe how a department really works.

  • Workflow diagrams & process maps
  • Operational documentation & SLAs
  • Expert discussions & walkthroughs
  • Meeting transcripts & repositories

Why it matters

From searching for answers to interacting with knowledge.

Traditional

  • Read lengthy documents
  • Shadow experienced people
  • Ask the same questions
  • Rely on a few experts

The opportunity

  • Ask knowledge directly
  • Learn in context
  • Reinforce understanding
  • Keep knowledge connected

Business value

Why organisations care

Organisations already possess knowledge. The challenge is making that knowledge accessible, maintainable and scalable.

  • Faster onboarding

New employees can learn independently and reach productivity sooner.

  • Reduced SME dependency

Fewer interruptions for subject matter experts.

  • Improved knowledge accessibility

Information becomes easier to discover and understand.

  • Consistent learning

Employees receive the same foundational knowledge.

  • Better documentation hygiene

Knowledge stays connected to operational systems.

  • Organisational memory

Expertise remains available even when people move on.

  • Scalable learning

Knowledge can support many people simultaneously.

While this project was developed in a specific organisational context, the underlying principles are applicable across many industries where knowledge transfer, onboarding and operational consistency are important.

The bigger opportunity

This was never really about AI.

It was about knowledge.

AI is a new mechanism for making organisational knowledge easier to access, maintain and scale.

As its capabilities mature, the practical opportunity is to bring several disciplines together into a more effective learning and operational system.

02Knowledge capture

Ideas put into practice.

Examples of practical initiatives that strengthened capability, visibility and access to organisational knowledge.

01

Building an Offshore Operations Team

Established and supported an offshore capability by helping recruit, train and mentor team members, while documenting processes and transferring operational knowledge. The model continued successfully beyond the initial implementation and became a reference point for future discussions on outsourcing and capability development.

02

Introducing Structured Ways of Working

Implemented Jira boards, project tracking workflows and Confluence documentation practices that improved visibility, collaboration and knowledge sharing. The approach became a benchmark considered by other teams within the organisation.

03

AI-Powered Knowledge & Learning Systems

Captured departmental knowledge and transformed it into a scalable learning ecosystem using AI tutors, assessments and knowledge repositories.
